Spratling Pair of Sterling and Wood Candlesticks

These very modern looking candlesticks were designed in the 1950’s by William Spratling. They are sterling silver with twisted wooden coils at the waist. This design was based on the traditional head coils that the Mexican Indian women wear to balance baskets on their heads.
