This large and important skyscraper mirror was designed by Norman Bel Geddes in 1934. We have two variants, one has chrome skyscraper accents and a black enameled metal base and the other is all satin nickel. The mirror is clear. It is a heavy, well made and well designed piece. In 1929, after his career as a designer in the theater, Norman Bel Geddes opened an industrial design company. He went on to become one of the foremost American modernist designers of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Examples of his work are held in the 20th Century design depts. of several museum collections.
