Margot de Taxco Art Deco Enamel Necklace

Margot de Taxco Art Deco Enamel Necklace

This necklace is an outstanding sterling silver example of Margot de Taxco’s enamel work. It is very rare to see her enamel work in a full collar. It is in excellent condition with no damage what so ever. The clasp works as it should. This necklace is signed with the Margot de Taxco markings. Margot Van Voovhies Carr, an American from San Francisco moved to Taxco in 1937, married the silver designer, Antonio Castillo and began creating her own jewelry designs. After their divorce, she opened her own atelier, Margot de Taxco and remained in Taxco designing and producing until her death.
