Paavo Tynell Brass Chandelier

Paavo Tynell Brass Chandelier

This solid brass light fixture was manufactured in the mid 1950’s. The bowl of this lamp has several three point perforations that twinkle when it is lit. It has the signature Tynell looped finishing piece. This chandelier holds 4 lightbulbs which direct the light up to the ceiling where the light reflects back into the room. It is a wonderful scale. Paavo Tynell was considered to be the father of  modern Finnish industrial lighting. He was commissioned to do the lighting in the offices of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. His designs became very popular in the United States where he worked with Lightolier.
