Pr. Spratling Sterling & Rosewood Dot Candlesticks

This pair of candle sticks was made in the 1940’s. It is a great example of Spratling’s ability to create wonderful designs using the combination of wood and silver. They are signed on the bottom and in excellent condition. William Spratling’s unique blending of traditional Mexican Colonial, Ranchero and Pre-Columbian designs with modern forms have created a place for him amongst the Masters of 20th Century Modern Silver world wide. Numerous books have been written either by or about him and he was the subject of the film, “The Man From New Orleans”, in 1948.
