This rare beautifully designed card holder was designed by William Spratling in the 1950’s. It is handwrought sterling silver and ebony. The condition is excellent. William Spratling’s unique blending of traditional Mexican Colonial, Ranchero and Pre-Columbian designs with modern forms have created a place for him amongst the Masters of 20th Century Modern Silver world wide. Numerous books have been written either by or about him and he was the subject of the film, “The Man From New Orleans”, in 1948.
