Walter Darwin Teague designed this Streamline Art Deco sideboard or credenza in the 1930’s for Hastings of Grand Rapids. It is burled walnut with black lacquer and aluminum trim. This streamline Art deco sideboard retains it’s original high gloss hand polished lacquer finish. Each of the side doors open to reveal a curved shelf. Walter Darwin Teague is considered one of the foremost American modernist industrial designers. Beginning with his first client, Kodak in 1927 and working well into the 1950’s, he was responsible for changing the face of American Modernism. Through the years he created innovative product designs for Kodak, Spartan radio, Steuben Glass, Hastings, Steinway, Texaco, Polaroid and many more.
