Original Alfredo Ramos Martinez Fresco Panel 1934

This Original Alfredo Ramos Martinez fresco panel “The Nun” is a fresco study for his mural in the Santa Barbara Cemetery Chapel. The technique is fresco on cement with a half inch wood frame. On the verso, there is a painting directly on the cement of a Mexican peasant. The piece is in excellent condition and has been in the owner’s collection for 43 years. The purchase includes a custom made solid maple wall mount that attaches to the wall and is fitted for the fresco panel to slide in to. This intimate work really shows the details of Ramos Martinez’s mastery of the fresco technique. The last 2 photos are of a few of the nuns that are pictured in the Chapel mural.
